Candidates for Maryland State Senate District 3 joined the In the Booth podcast to debate issues in their district and throughout the state ahead of the Nov. 6 election. The candidates answered questions regarding business and economic development, education, transportation, public safety and agriculture.
Craig Giangrande, the Republican challenger for the seat, criticized incumbent Sen. Ron Young for his record for his stances on immigration in the state and the senator’s hope to implement “safe houses” for heroin addicts to be able to get clean needles and be in a safe environment. Young defended his record in his two terms in the senate, and offered his hopes to improve mass transit system in Frederick County and throughout the state.
